Blog as announcement list for the radio? October 26, 2006

So radio free #mofirc has gotten off to a rollicking start. Someone was asking about maybe having a mailing list for the DJs on the station. Do you all think we could use this blog (that is, mofirc.org) to announce up and coming features on the station? (I’m somewhat inspired by this site, which seems to do a pretty good job of blog posts that complement the material that’s playing on their station.) On a related note, should we use this blog to talk about technical details, scheduling conflicts, etc.? I’m tempted to say that it should just be for our intrepid listeners, but I’m not so sure that there are many listeners who aren’t DJs themselves. :)

On that note, if you want to DJ and you haven’t yet, now’s your chance! Just send me an email and we’ll get you set up. It’s like joining the Navy, except the tunes go around the world instead of you, so it’s slightly less exciting. But still!

This is the side project that started as a kind of vague discussion and six hours later had turned into a site! Organization be damned - we are impulse-driven, on-the-go shaven apes! We’ll be adding more stuff as time passes, so keep checking back and see what’s new.

For now, you can check out radio free #mofirc and see what choons we’re spinning. You can also check out our Google Calendar to see what’s coming up. Someday, we’ll have information on all our DJ’s and a bunch of other stuff (including all kinds of tschotkes and knick-knacks).
